Before starting on this amazing project on Wistowe Island in Canada’s Muskoka Lakes region, Toronto-based interior designer Anne Hepfer took a trip to India and used her inspiration to design the brightly patterned summer home. I love that the originality of the space has been lovingly maintained (the pine walls and floors are beautiful!), but an eclectic mix of vintage and more contemporary pieces give the home a fresh and layered look. And talk about layers…the pattern play going on is fabulous, definitely “preppy boho” as the designer calls it! My favorite space has to be the master bedroom. The custom sofa with one of my fav Kelly Wearstler prints, the wall and bedskirt covered in Lulu DK, the water view…total perfection! All in all just so fun–exactly what you want in a vacation home!
Finish your tour with more photos by Virginia Macdonald and read an article all about the cottage here. And for another Muskoka home I’ve featured designed by Anne Hepfer, go here! And lastly, the designer’s own personal Muskoka cottage just happens to be on the cover of House Beautiful this month–go here to see, it’s a stunner!
I so want to visit Muskoka now! Have any of you ever been there?? The homes look so dreamy!
