So many things to love about this fantastic home designed by lakbdesign! Not surprisingly it’s all the walls painted Benjamin Moore’s “Wythe Blue” that initially won me over. I knew this color must be special when long ago Seleta mentioned it on her blog: “I worked our whole house around my favorite blue which I had painted on the walls of the master bedroom. Benjamin Moore: Wythe Blue HC 143”. Recently I noticed the folks over at GardenWeb had a lot to say about the pretty color too:
“It’s a perfect blue/green IMO and the swatch doesn’t do it justice. Especially next to the other colors — it looks green but on the wall it’s anything but.”
“I swear it’s like walking into a spa every time I go in the room. I love it.”
“I also love Wythe Blue by BM. It is very similar to Quietude, but more saturated. Looks more like a true aqua, but still never baby-ish.”
“We used BM Wythe Blue in our nursery (for a girl) and I absolutely love it. I can’t say enough about how amazing that color is and it’s a good blue — works for a boy or a girl.”
Get this though…what sealed the deal on my love was a comment I received last week from an in-the-know reader who revealed to me that Wythe Blue is actually the color of the Draper foyer/staircase on Mad Men!! *squeal*

This is one of my favorites too. Have painted my front door this color and used it on furniture and cabinet backs. Love it.

You found it… you found my dream kitchen!!!! In more ways than I can explain… that is perfect for me, perfect for my house.
Truth be told, I'm a little stunned.
Wythe Blue was one of the finalists in our search for a new color for our back door. Alas, it was too green for this application, but I have saved the sample for something else in the future. It's a GREAT color!
Our powder room is this color and it is divine! Thank you for these images! You're the best!
Love, love, LOVE this blue! It is second only to Rainwashed. I eventually want to use both somehow. Thanks for the inspiring pics.
Really gorgeous. I've been hunting for one of those colored parsons desks on craigslist forever — that green is fabulous!
Beautiful. Question (rhetorical): do you need to live near a body of water to have a beachy/water-based/nautical theme in decor? I love it.
Wow, love the pops of red and yellow against the turquoise! Janell
I think this is my favorite shade of blue I have seen. I agree with all the quotes (without even seeing it in person). It's the perfect shade – not too light and not too dark – and it's just blue enough to notice it but not so blue that it overtakes the room. And holy crap it looks amazing against white trim! Beautiful! I can't wait to have walls of my own to paint!!!
I painted my bathroom Wyeth Blue and it's great. Almost as pretty as the Palladian Blue I painted my living room!
Nice color. I also like the jux of the final pic!
Fun.

What a perfect shade of turquoise on the walls! I'll have to remember that one 🙂
I've been seriously looking for a new color for my kitchen and dining room, and this may just be the one. 🙂
Lately I just havent been satisfied with the shade of blue I have on my walls which happens to be Gray Morning by Behr. Very grey looking on the chip but looks much more blue on walls. This shade of turquoise/robin's egg blue is what I have been searching for! Its not too too bold, but its mellow and oh so elegant at the same time.
I love the rooms in this home! Very chic 🙂
Lovely.
LOOOOOOVE the kitchen!! Drool*
I think I may need to steal their idea of the glass jars with seashells in front of the fireplace! I love that in place of a screen!!
I'm moving into my new place this weekend and my landlord painted everything white and said I could paint over it with whatever color I want. This blue will be IT!!! I'll use for my foyer and my office. Can't WAIT!!!
I am loving the red and blue combo! Nice post.
Please, please share with me how you get your photos so large? Stunning and breathtaking montage my friend….Anita
What a gorgeous colour I'll have to check it out on the paint deck…
I have used this color for my own home and for several clients. It is a gorgeous color! BUT the pics of "Mr. Draper" with the color have now put it at the very top of my "fave" list!
Gorgeous color! I love those barstool chairs with the nailheads. Love your blog!

I love this living room…perfect blue with pops of green and yellow.
any idea on who makes the yellow toile that's on the pillows in that fabulous living room?
Does anyone know a great GREY that would go with Wythe Blue? I want to paint my hallway grey, leading into the nursery (wythe blue) and would love any help…going with pure white trim..OBSESSED WITH THIS COLOR!!!
thanks so much for posting photos of my house, erin. lovely 🙂 i am so excited to hear about the mad men connection – love that show! re the grey to use with wythe blue – i've used a pretty saturated sort of warm grey, farrow & ball's hardwick white, near wythe blue spaces, so you could try that, but i usually use restoration hardware's coffee inspired colors — latte, mocha, cappuccino (possibly this says something about my sbx habit?!) also, you can see more of my house on my flickr photo stream (lakbdesign/fergusandme — but only if you're so inclined — slightly cringe-worthy comment!) and in country living mag earlt next year. thanks again, erin! lynn-anne
oh, and i forgot. target for the tole silk pillows. . . . 19.99 each 🙂
I have just learned of the loveliness of Wythe Blue! In fact I discovered it from that very kitchen with the red accents that you showed! I think I searched "aqua and red" and somehow found that vision. I just painted my dining room that color (toileinthefamily.blogspot.com) and am seriously contemplating doing the family room the same color! I LOVE it with red!!
Love these rooms and the blue. I am on the hunt for new wall colors and trying to decide about shutters. These photos are helpful. So thanks! Have a great day!
I went to my local Ben Moore paint store and picked up a paint chip of Wythe Blue because I loved the colors so much on these pictures. The paint chip doesn't look at all like the pictures… it's much more green. Did I get the correct sample by getting Wythe Blue?
I have a chip of it sitting here and I agree, it is much more green than the pictures make it seem. I've never painted with it, but I am pretty sure this is the same one!
Off course, checking out new home decorating ideas may give
birth to a new home decorating plan. Planning everything beforehand to make the
most of your home is barely important part of your home design and decor
process.
Such a beautiful color! Love it paired with the red.
This is a very lovely shade of blue! It is indeed a perfect color choice for the house's interior. A lot of homeowners are surely inspired by this. Thanks for sharing.
Well, after months of searching, and driving my co-workers crazy, you talked me into it. What an amazing color! Green one minute and blue the next. Subtly vibrant. Thanks for the inspiration.

Ps. Love the site.
